Construction Enquirer News Native Land and TfL advance scheme to revamp west London Underground station site

Joint developers Native Land and Transport for London have submitted plans for the £150m revamp of South Kensington Tube station and surrounding buildings.

Designed by architect Rogers Stirk Harbour, the project involves enhancements to the Grade-II listed South Kensington station, restoring the historic arcade to its former glory and providing new retail opportunities.

Fifty homes will be built around the station, including 35% on-site affordable. A new four-storey office building known as ‘The Bullnose’ will front the station block and give step free access.

Alasdair Nicholls, chief executive Native Land, said: “Our proposals will provide contemporary architecture of the highest quality that respects its unique historical context, providing new homes, shops, restaurants and workspaces.”
